                         INTERSCHOOL CHALLENGE

                                                          

 

The Queensland Tenpin Bowling Interschool Challenge is a school sporting competition organised by Tenpin Bowling Association of Queensland (TBAQ) and is open to all government and non government schools in Queensland and Northern NSW.

The Tenpin Bowling Queensland Interschool Challenge is a competition developed by Tenpin Bowling Association of Queensland Inc (TBAQ) introducing the concept of a uniformly structured tenpin bowling competition to school teachers, students and parents. Queensland is the only state in Australia that runs an intra-state competition for Tenpin Bowling.  

The Interschool Challenge is a School vs School competition based on 5 person teams (one gender or mixed).  The format of the competition is head to head with a unique points scoring system. The Interschool Challenge is run in 2 parts, first schools participate in a qualifying round held in May then the top 10 schools on points or pinfall throughout the state participate in a Final held in August. 

The Tenpin Bowling Interschool Challenge has been operating for 9 years and is a great opportunity for students from your school to participate in a competitive environment in their chosen sport. The event is a great opportunity for children at your school to participate in a new sporting event whether they are a current bowler or would like to try tenpin bowling as their new sporting interest

An online Expression of Interest Form is available for schools to advise TBAQ that they would like more information for the 2010 QLD Competition. Please click here to fill in form.

2010 Entry Forms and Information packs will be available early March 2010 and will be sent out to all people who have completed Expression of Interest form and local schools in QLD.

Fomat for Interschool Challenge 2010

Qualifying

3 games per team (5 person per team) based on total pinfall for 3 games.

This will be bowled at a nominated center in your local region as per Queensland Education Sport Regions as follows: Capricornia, Darling Downs, Metro East, Metro North, Metro West, North Western, Northern, Peninsula, South Coast, South Western, Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay.

 

Finals

Primary Schools: 5 games per team (5 persons per team) based on points scoring in school vs school format. Final round will include a points loading system. There are 3 zone finals for primary school – SE QLD, Central QLD and North QLD; overall QLD winner will be determined on overall pinfall.

Secondary Schools: 10 games per team (5 persons per team) bowled over 2 days. Points scoring for all games in school vs school format. Round 5 and 10 will include a points loading system. Finals will be held in Brisbane in August 2010.

The Tenpin Bowling Interschool Challenge has been operating for 10 years and is a great opportunity for students from your school to participate in a competitive environment in their chosen sport. The event is a great opportunity for children at your school to participate in a new sporting event whether they are a current bowler or would like to try tenpin bowling as their new sporting interest .
