                           INTERSCHOOL CHALLENGE

The Interschool Challenge is a program of Tenpin Bowling Association of Queensland Inc. introducing the concept of a uniformly structured tenpin bowling competition to school teachers, students and parents.

Interschool Challenge is a partnership between TBAQ (the sport providers), The Bowling Centre (the sport facility) and Education Queensland (learning providers for children).

This partnership is developed to achieve the following outcomes

  • Enhance the image of tenpin bowling as a sport.
  • Increase participation in the sport.
  • Place tenpin bowling on the same acknowledgement and opportunity base as other major sports
  • Provide a pathway to recruit and retain junior participants instead of relying on league promotion and tournaments as the only recruitment tools.

The Interschool Challenge is a program which achieves these outcomes.  Tenpin Bowling suffers from a recreational image within the secondary school environment and thus junior bowlers are not acknowledged for their achievements in the sport.  This program opens up the opportunity for junior bowlers to succeed in conjunction with school representation.

Through the adoption of the Interschool Challenge the sport and bowling centres are offering an opportunity to local schools and local junior bowlers to participate in a unique team based format.
