Tenpin Bowling is a growing sport within the sports system and is currently undertaken by many schools throughout Queensland in some form or another. Tenpin Bowling is a sport which offers many athlete pathways and the Interschool Challenge is another pathway being developed for students at your school to access. The Interschool Challenge is an extension and a viable opportunity to current school participation – In Centre field trips.
The Interschool Challenge is a School vs School Statewide competition based on 5 person teams (one gender or mixed). The format of the competition is head to head with a unique points scoring system. All schools who enter the Interschool Challenge will qualify at their closest bowling centre. The centre qualifying competition will be based on scratch pinfall (total number of pins knocked down by each team). Once nominations are finalised, if there are a small number of schools entering, the organising committee will notify all schools that there will be a combined centre qualifying stage conducted.
After the centre qualifying, all schools which nominated will be organised according to Education Queensland’s regions as near as possible, then all scores will be calculated after the qualifying event. The schools with the highest pinfall for each region will advance to the State Finals. (10 regions)
Comprehensive results, points tables and individual & team score sheets are maintained for all Qualifying and Finals matches.
