Barb Richmond

Barb RichmondBarbara Richmond was inducted into the Queensland Hall of Fame on 17th March 2007. Barbara commenced Tournament Bowling in 1974 and some of her many achievements are listed below.

Australian Teams

  • Represented Australia 4 times
  • 1 x Gold medal
  • 2 x Bronze
  • 1 x Australian Team Captain

State Teams

  • Represented Queensland (Rachuig) 8 times and captained the Rachuig Team 5 times
    (One year the Queensland Selectors placed Barbara as first reserve in the State Team – she was selected as Captain of the Australian Team the same year.)

National Events

  • Final runner-up of South Pacific 4 times

One year Barbara won 28 out of 32 tournaments entered, finished 2nd twice and 3rd twice.
Was accredited as a coach in 1990.
Coached Juniors and Seniors at Clayfield and Greenslopes and Toowoomba Bowling Centres for approx 6 years.

A reference in Australian Tenpin Bowling published in 1988 says of Barbara:

Possibly the highlight of Richmond’s distinguished career has been her victory in the first Coca-Cola International Challenge Cup Masters Tournament, where she headed a contingent of leading US professional bowlers as well as the best of the Aussies.

Barbara finished on a league average of 203 in 1994 and having had a break due to work commitments, has now returned to the Sport.

Barbara has 2 X 300 Games.
