What is the Interschool Challenge? The Inter-School Challenge is a program of Tenpin Bowling Association of Queensland Inc. introducing the concept of a uniformly structured Tenpin Bowling competition to school teachers, students and parents. The Inter-School Challenge is a partnership between TBAQ (the sport providers), The Bowling Centre (the sport facility) and Education Queensland (learning providers for children). Queensland is the only State in Australia that runs an Intra-State competition for Tenpin Bowling. This partnership is developed to achieve the following outcomes: The Inter-School Challenge is an event which achieves these outcomes. Tenpin Bowling suffers from a recreational image within the secondary school environment and thus junior bowlers are not acknowledged for their achievements in the sport. This program opens up the opportunity for junior bowlers to succeed in conjunction with school representation. The sport pathways continue from here to Regional, State and International events including the Asian Schools competition. The Tenpin Bowling Inter-School Challenge concept was devised in 2000 to introduce the sport of Tenpin Bowling as an Inter-School Sporting event within the Primary and Secondary environment. Inter-School Challenge is an extension and a viable opportunity to current school participation – Roll ‘n Strike in School program and In Centre field trips. This competition allows current and new participants of Tenpin Bowling to compete in a structured Statewide competition and to represent their school in their chosen sport. Goals of Inter-School Challenge: Have a Statewide event attracting schools to compete against one another for the honour of being the leading school in the sport of Tenpin Bowling WHY THE SPORT NEEDS INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION To increase the awareness of Tenpin Bowling in the school system Feedback Form Please download hereand Return toian@tbaq.org.aufollowing this year’s Competition
