SCHOOLS

Tenpin Bowling Association of Queensland in partnership with all bowling centres in Queensland offers programs to schools for the following outcomes

Exposure of the sport of tenpin bowling to children and teachers

Increased participation and membership within the sport

Promotion of athlete pathways within the sport

Opportunities for children to remain in the sport

Creation of partnerships between TBAQ, schools and bowling centres.

Tenpin Bowling is available to all school children whether primary or secondary level through a variety of programs which are governed and promoted by TBAQ Inc.  These programs are available to both public and private school systems.

Primary schools are invited to participate in the Roll 'n Strike program which will introduce children to the sport in a structured and outcome based manner.  Children who are interested in tenpin bowling after participating in Roll 'n Strike are then invited to programs at their local centre to learn more about the sport. Once tenpin bowling is a yearly sport in your PE curriculum, your school may want to enter the Interschool Challenge - Primary Division.

Secondary schools are invited to participate in structured programs within the bowling centre in order to add value to current participation structures.  TBAQ has implemented a competition structure for secondary schools in Queensland the Interschool Challenge - Secondary Division to increase the profile of the sport and offer current participants of the sport the opportunity to represent their school.  This competition is growing year by year and is evolving into one of the major Junior Tenpin Bowling events in Queensland.
