Over two big days, the Tenpin Bowling QLD Interschool Challenge 2009 Secondary Finals were held at Logan City Lanes (22 – 23 August 2009) with teams battling over 10 games to find the Secondary State Champion.
The competition was exhilarating with the lead changing many times especially after the points loading system, having the winning team not decided until the last bowl of day.
The 2009 Secondary Champions are:
RUNCORN STATE HIGH SCHOOL
All finalists received prize packs, provided from coca – cola and pencil cases with bowling items (AMF) and hammer lapel pins (Animals Proshop). The top 3 teams in the state received individual trophies and a 2 bowling ball bag (Brunswick Balls Australia).
SECONDARY ALL STAR TEAM for 2009
- Joseph Baldwin 200.9 Helensvale SHS
- Morgan Lutz 199.0 Kepnock SHS
- Luke Hotz 198.3 Toowoomba SHS
- Brendan Woodley 195.5 Runcorn SHS
- Joshua Kemp 194.5 Pine Rivers SHS
All bowlers who made the ALL STAR TEAM received: plaque and black widow bowling ball (Animals Proshop). Congratulations to the All Star Team bowlers with their great averages after 10 games.
The Secondary schools competition had two sportsperson awards in 2009, due to the overwhelming votes received for the following two people. This award is present to the person/s that have received the most votes from all the bowlers competing over the two days of competition. All bowlers get a chance to put a vote in twice, once on each day. Congratulations go to Rohan Molley (Helensvale SHS) and Sara Hines (Morayfield SHS) for receiving the 2009 Sportsperson Awards. Each of these bowlers received a plaque and a bowling ball (Logan City Lanes Proshop)
Congratulations to all schools that competed, with great sportsmanship shown over the two days and cheering for their team (I know a lot of parent s when home a bit deaf from all the noise). Thank you to all spectators, coaches, parents and coordinators, without your support this competition would not be possible.
TBAQ would like to thank the following sponsors for their support
All students who participated in the competition in 2009 will receive certificates and these will be forwarded to your school shortly.
TBAQ once again would like to thank all schools and we look forward to your schools participation in 2010.
