Bowler Programs
TBAQ runs a number of skill development programs designed to assist you to develop your bowling technique and knowledge.
These programs start from the absolute beginner’s level and range through to coaching and information that is capable of taking you to an elite level.

Roll ‘n Strike is a structured tenpin program available in schools, community centres and bowling centres across Queensland, Western Australia, Canberra, Tasmania, South Australia.TBAQ supply free sponsored equipment and free teacher in service resources.
Roll ‘n Strike Offers:
- In school program – includes teacher in service video training – teacher professional development component – teacher sport accreditation opportunity (level 0) – lesson plans linked to current National curriculum outcomes of Physical Education – hard copy manual available which includes an endless variety of fun games and lesson plans, free equipment resource on loan, assistance to fund raise to supply permanent resource in schools.
- In Centre state wide league program – 10 week coach assisted structured program at your local bowling centre. Providing 20 interchangeable lesson plans to provide an endless variety of sessions for school children, and adults wanting to learn more about good technique in the sport of tenpin.
12 FRAME PROGRAMS © FOR THE COMPETITION BOWLER
6 Frames of Technique drills, and 6 frames of science and knowledge, make up the 12 Frame program.This program offers 7 hours of on-lane bowling, completed over one or two days to prepare any junior, youth or adult for competition bowling. Those aspiring to higher skills will obtain a manual with up to date lane reading and technique appraisals within this copyright program. TBAQ presenters operate in all regions of Queensland. Please register your interest via your regional coaching director or the State Coaching Director at [email protected]. Class size minimum is 12. Cost approximately $100 per bowler includes lane fees 7 hours.
There are two 12 Frame Clinics scheduled in the coming months, and they are being run as day 1 of the State Based Training Squad weekends in both the Southern Region event (26th & 27th July 2014) and the Northern Region events (2nd & 3rd August 2014). You can register online or by downloading, completing and returning the registration form along with payment. Both options are available on the State Based Training Squad page now.
High Performance coaches ID local talented bowlers and offer support to those athletes wishing to enter the National Training Squad.
Entry level to this talent ID process is via any registered Bowler program as listed above. TBAQ provides serious athletes with a list of training and performance measures to hone their skills in readiness for Local, State representative teams.The Australian Sports Commission also offer travel assistance via the Sport and Recreation Funding programs for those athletes traveling more than 300 km to Queensland State or Zone Championships (applicable to athletes Under 18 years of age). Please view athlete assistance grants on the ASC website and the TBAQ tournament calendar to get dates of authorised state and zone championships for juniors and youths.
TBAQ offer computer analysis for bowlers – cost $50 per person in groups of 6 or more please apply to TBAQ.
Computer analysis available inclusive in camp fees for junior and youth development camps and clinics run by TBAQ Coaching Director and HP coaches.
1 or 2 days of skill analysis, technique appraisal and learning how to bowl lines and angles.
These camps also teach sparing and strike adjustment systems to the competition bowler. The Camps provide a strong base of learning for any athlete starting out on representative team pathways. Adult programs are also available.High Performance coaches lead a strong support team of coaching expertise. Excellent preparation for the State Training Squad events (see bowler and coach education calendar on the TBAQ website). Class size minimum is 20.
